Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

20141005-sisterhood-of-the-world-bloggers-award1

To start, I would like to send out a giant thank you to ourivfrollercoaster for your nomination!  I too am a big fan of your blog. Much love and congratulations on your BFP!

So, the rules.

1)  Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their site.

2)  Put the award logo on your blog.

3)  Answer the ten questions the nominator has set for you.

4)  Make up ten new questions for your nominees to answer.

5)  Nominate 10 people.

So, here are my questions and answers:

What is your favourite thing about blogging?

I started my blog as a way to get back in touch with my creative side and a way to get things out that were mulling around in my head about my struggle with infertility. Mission accomplished, however, I think the favourite thing about blogging has been the community I tapped into. I no longer realize I am alone and the strength and courage it has given back to me is a genuine gift.

Where would be your favourite place to live?

I am a Canadian mountain girl, but I love the sun and the water too. So I would say Vancouver Island. Winters are mild, you are on the water, you get more sun than Vancouver and you are surrounded by lush beautiful scenery and mountains.

What is your top five book list?

  1. Eat, Pray, Love
  2. The Book of Negros
  3. A Million Little Pieces
  4. Circle of Friends
  5. Wuthering Heights

Quite the eclectic list…history, drugs, yoga, food, healing, friends, and love….

What makes you happy?

The dog park. I have always said it is the happiest place on earth. Any time I take our dog there…he runs with a stupid smile on his face and I can’t help but share his joy and laugh.

What is the craziest or most embarrassing thing you have done in your life?

Most embarrassing… years ago I fainted multiple times at a large event as my ex-boyfriend’s boss was giving a speech. People crowded around me, I created a commotion as each time I got up I fainted again….they called an ambulance. There was concern I was pregnant (not likely), or hadn’t eaten enough (as if)…but it was later diagnosed that I had stood too long in one spot and blood had pooled at my feet. I dance a little now in one spot whenever I go to large events and have to stand for a long time.

If money was no object, what would you buy?

More fertility treatments and a place in line for adoption. I hate that getting through this part of my life is about weighing financial security, health and family.

I would also travel, travel, and travel!

What do you think is the most important trait in a person?

Compassion. Without compassion we walk through life without true understanding of circumstances.

What do you wish you were better at?

Discipline around sugar and sweets. I try so hard to be healthy, but show me a piece of licorice, a doughnut or sour jujubes and all discipline is out the door. From there, the cravings for more carbs and sugar goes on and on. *sigh*

What is your worst nightmare?

My worst nightmare would likely be losing my husband in some form…by accident, illness or to another woman. He is my rock and laugh partner and I love him more every day. It took me 33 years to find him, he is irreplaceable.

What is the first word that pops into your head?

Candy! Obviously the slight mention of sugar and sweets has my mind thinking that candy would be a great addition to my afternoon.

My 10 Questions:

  1. What’s the biggest lesson you have learned so far?
  2. Would you rather travel by plane, car, boat or train?
  3. What’s the one place on earth you have always wanted to visit?
  4. What’s your favourite blogging topic?
  5. What is your dream job?
  6. Would you rather be an athlete or a musician?
  7. What’s the best time of day?
  8. What do characteristic do you value the most?
  9. Sweet or Savoury?
  10. What’s the one thing you would never do again?

Nominations – I know these awards are not everyone’s cup of tea – so no hard feelings if you rather not participate.  If anything these nominations are a way for me to say thank you for sharing your stories.

  1. How to make a baby
  2. With Grace & Faith
  3. Surviving Infertility
  4. Searching for the Stork
  5. My Perfect Breakdown
  6. Unpregnant Chicken
  7. IVF Over 40
  8. Untitled, Unfinished
  9. Finding my inner zen
  10. Miscarriage Memoirs

  1. Thanks so much for the nomination! I’m so honoured that you thought of me. I hope you know that I love your blog too, and I am so thankful that our journey’s have brought us together as blogging friends. 🙂
P.S. I love sweets too. If something sweet is near me I have virtually no self control.
